We are artisans with a common interest in making things that explore social, political, cultural and aesthetic systems through art and craft. Our projects assert new ways to explore material, form and content. We cultivate experimentation guided by engagement with the world and collaboration with our peers. We give shape to the dialogue between traditions of hand-craftsmanship and the aesthetics of digital modernity.
Our work is comprised of both independent and collaborative projects between visual artist Andrew Cornell Robinson and fashion designer Sigfrido Holguin and a rotating cadre of international artisans.
We Make Things.

Sigfrido Enrique Ramon Holguin Javier |
Born in Camden, New Jersey. Robinson's work includes ceramic sculpture, collage, work on paper and sculptural assemblage. Rooted in the history of craftsmanship and abstraction, his playful work taps into story and form, often intertwining fragments of objects with cut-out shapes and partially obscured images that evoke memory and recollection. An explorer of narrative and material; Robinson is interested in secret human histories, folklore, incantations and anachronisms that inform the creation of his peculiar and eclectic objects and images. His journey has often revolved around ceramics, starting with an apprenticeship with an English potter as a youth and later studying ceramics at the Maryland Institute, Glasgow School of Art in Scotland and studio art at the School of Visual Arts. His work points toward an abstraction of narratives such as folklore and forgotten history and results images and objects cobbled together from multiple media often each material is chosen for some symbolic reference as well as its tactile qualities. Much like the tradition of material craftsmanship which he was schooled in, the process and material texture inform the objects that transform the feeling of the work, sometimes poetic, humorous, jarring and at times cryptic. He operates acrStudio, the Arts + Crafts Research Studio in Bushwick, Brooklyn and he also teaches at Parsons School of Design.
