My interest in design began with my early fine art training working as an apprentice to a production potter. I learned the fundamentals of functional design by creating usable ceramic ware. I later worked with exhibition design in art galleries and museums. I also worked in the fashion and retail industry as a visual merchandiser with Bergdorf Goodman, Macy's and Michael Kors. I later began teaching art, and then technology. Through my teaching experience I observed students learn as well as struggle using badly designed software interfaces. From these experiences and a desire to explore the effectiveness of product design, aesthetics, narrative and problem based learing, I began working as an information and interaction designer. I have worked with a variety of clients developing systematic design, online marketing, demos and physical computing and digital signage. Some of these clients include Lowe's, Caterpillar, Citibank, New York Stock Exchange, Verizon and more. Today I work as an Associate Creative Director within the interactive design industry and I teach at Parsons School of Design while also working in my studio art practice. Below are selected examples of some of the projects I have worked on. |

"FWA found the Verizon Action Hero Web site to be a very original experience," said Rob Ford, FWA founder and principal. "In our seven year history, this was the first time we had the pleasure of creating our own movie that would be rendered and sent to us for our personal and shared viewing pleasure. The overall quality of the complete experience was first class, with a seamless walkthrough and an end result that we will never forget.
Here is a screen shot from the project where the user is able to upload thier image and prepare it for CGI rendering and inclusion in the customized movie short.
