Dirty Ornament

I worked with the the the Curator Amanda Trager in coordinating this exhibition which explored the decorative and ornamental nature of neo-minimalist tendancies in this group of artists. The show included, Bill Albertini, Lisa Alberts, Jackie Chang, Eve Andree Laramee, Charles Long, Patty Martori, Saul Ostrow, Elliot Puckette, Lynne Yamamoto.

"Artists still make work involving arrangement and order but no longer emply the camouflage of a 'pure' abstraction. That refuge has been blasted; the nightmares have trampled in and set up show. The pieces can be seen as scarecrows of the contemporary mind -- the scarecrow has the double function of warding off evil even while being a depiction of it." - Amanda Trager
